A graduate of Dartmouth College, Lindahl received his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Washington in Economic Geography, specializing in economics, real estate, and corporate environmental management. He was an Assistant Professor of Geography at Penn State University, where he taught courses in urban and regional economics, spatial analysis, and land use. He has also served on the faculty of the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington, where he taught graduate courses in real estate development and market analysis. Lindahl has published numerous articles in leading business, economic, and geography journals. He is or has been a member of the Research Committees of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), and a member of the American Real Estate Society (ARES), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and Regional Science Association International (RSAI), and past President of the Seattle Chapter of the National Association of Business Economists (NABE). David Lindahl, Ph.D., is a Principal of Morton Trails and brings over 20 years of professional experience in real estate, resort and land use planning, property transactions and negotiations, environmental management, geographic information systems (GIS), and economic analysis. Prior to joining Morton Trails, Lindahl was Director of Research for Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel, based in Seattle, Washington. While at Kennedy, Lindahl oversaw economic, portfolio, and market research for Kennedy’s $11 billion in commercial, residential, and resort assets across the United States. Lindahl also directed Kennedy’s environmental management and sustainability initiatives, which included the development of multiple projects certified under the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environmental Design (LEED) program.
